Diego Ruiz
Gong & breathwork facilitator
Diego runs immersive gong baths and breathwork journeys for groups recovering from intense periods — festivals, ceremonies, burnout. Based in Tulum with regular events in cenotes and beach palapas.
Current sessions
- ◦ Sunset gong bath at Cenote Calavera (weekly, Tulum)
- ◦ Post-festival recovery days during major Tulum events
- ◦ Three-day micro-retreats in Bacalar
Background
Diego trained in pranayama and conscious breathwork in São Paulo before moving to the Yucatán Peninsula in 2018. He added gong work after a year of study with a Berlin-based teacher and now blends both in most of his sessions.
How he works
Sessions begin with structured breath cycles — usually a gentle holotropic-influenced pattern — before transitioning into a long, layered gong soundscape. He explicitly screens for cardiovascular conditions before any breathwork session.
Where to find him
Diego has a weekly cenote sound bath in Tulum and travels to Bacalar most months for small group retreats on the lagoon. He also offers recovery sessions during festival weeks for groups of up to twenty.
